Sylvia Ward Obituary Sylvia A. Ward,88, of Nampa Idaho, passed away at home on Friday March 7, 2025. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 16 from 4-6 PM at Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. There will be a reception at 2 PM on Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 8 So. Midland Blvd in Nampa and all are invited to attend. Sylvia was born in Freedom Oklahoma May 3, 1936 to J.W. McCurley and Myrle Hart McCurley. The family came to Idaho in 1947 with her 4 siblings and she loved working on the farm milking cows and had a deep connection with animals. Sylvia graduated from Nampa High School in 1954 and attended Dental Assisting school in Seattle. Upon returning to Idaho she met Marv and they were married on December 22, 1958. They lived for a time at Daleville Alabama while Marv was in the service, but Idaho was always home. On June 15, 1965, Sylvia welcomed her daughter Susan AKA Georgie. Sylvia was a part of the dental community working for Dr. Milford Faylor and when he retired, Dr. George Keller inherited her as a chairside and ultimately dental lab technician. She was also overseer of Dr. Kellers rental properties, keeping the kids in line and being the office counselor. Sylvia was baptized into Trinity Lutheran Church in 1995 and enjoyed many roles within the church and made many lifelong friends. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Marv, daughter Susan, granddaughter JoJo, grandson Nate, great grand-daughter Sofie and great-grandson Arthur and her beloved dog Charlie.
