Terry Kirkness, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Nampa, Idaho, on August 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Terry was born July 26, 1960, in Miles City, Montana, to Richard and Marilyn Kirkness. When he was five years old, his family moved to Nampa, Idaho, where he would spend the rest of his life and build deep roots in the community. For more than 45 years, Terry worked at Campbell Tractor, where his dedication to his work and friendly nature made him a familiar face to generations of customers. He took pride in helping people and built many friendships and lasting relationships throughout his years there.
Terry was truly one of a kind. He had a lifelong appreciation for just about anything with a motor. He enjoyed fixing up old John Deere lawn mowers and loved cars, motorcycles and airplanes. He was an avid racing fan, whether it was drag racing, NASCAR or IndyCar. Terry had a deep passion for music, especially the rock music of the 1970s and '80s, which was a constant presence in his life. He also loved sports, especially softball, which he played for many years and remained passionate about throughout his life.
Above all, Terry cared deeply for his family. He was a loving father and grandfather, and his grandkids brought a great deal of joy to his life. They loved visiting Grandpa TK at Campbell Tractor, having lunch with him upstairs, and the silly games he would play with them. These simple moments became special memories they will always carry with them.
Terry is survived by his mother, Marilyn Kirkness; his daughter, Michelle (Jake) Parker; his grandchildren, Dayton, Rhett and Tatum Parker, and his granddaughter, Brynlee Parker, expected to arrive in September; his sisters, Kim (Troy) Tapp and Lori (Joe) Lutz; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Kirkness, and his brother, Wayne Kirkness.
A few weeks before his passing, Terry accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. His family is deeply thankful for that decision and for the assurance that those who have placed their faith in Christ will see him again one day in Heaven.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church in Nampa, Idaho.
