Victor Alan Quarve, former manager of Quarve's Store, Fessenden, ND, and retired sporting goods entrepreneur, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Nampa, ID, at the age of 74. He was the oldest son of Kermit and Jane Quarve of Fessenden, North Dakota born on April 25, 1938. Vic was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and target shooting. His greatest pleasure was fishing in the wilds of northern Canada. He will be missed as a loving father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend. In Fessenden High School he was a baritone player and loved to play marches. Later he attended Minot State Teacher's College in Minot, ND, and married childhood sweetheart Gretchen Werzel, who was a pianist and organist who also attended Minot State Teacher's College. Vic is survived by his wife Gretchen of Nampa, two sons: Grant and his wife Susie of Spokane and Bryce and his wife Wendy of Nampa; two grandsons: Peter and Thomas of Nampa, two brothers: Dave of Ocala, FL, and Paul of Fargo, ND, and many cousins. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A celebration of his life will also be held in Spokane, WA later this summer.
