Obituary

HEAVEN GAINED AN ANGEL ON EASTER SUNDAYVincent Galindo, 54, was called by his Lord on Sunday, April 20, 2014, after a great Easter celebration with his family. Vincent was born on September 19, 1959, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Vicente and Mela Galindo. He was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas until his family moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1971. Vincent graduated from Nampa High School in 1978 and from the University of Idaho in 1982. While attending college, Vincent worked as a summer-hire at Hewlett Packard until he was hired on full-time after completing his college education, and remained there for 32 years. He was recently employed by ISS, Inc. On July 5, 1986, Rebecca Salinas married the man of her dreams, Vincent. Together they were blessed with four amazing children, Anali, Cristal, Gabriela and Vincent III (Chacho), and a life filled with chaos, joy and an abundance of togetherness. Vincents sole purpose in this life was to provide for his wife and kids, and be there for them at every moment. Nothing brought him more joy than to celebrate their accomplishments. Vincents hobbies consisted of attending all of his kids school and sporting events. Most recently, Vincents life became even more fulfilled because of his beautiful granddaughter, Sofia. Nothing compared to the way his eyes would light up when she was in his arms and how gentle he was with her. Vincent was a kid at heart, always wrestling with his son, Chacho. At any given moment, a wrestling match would ensue. Vincent loved his nieces and nephews; always challenging his nephews to a wrestling match (or any sport); always teasing his nieces. Vincent was the pillar of strength and protection for his wife, kids and extended family. He was comforting and reassuring, strong and protective, a faithful Christian. Men like Vincent are few and far between. We now find ourselves lost without him, though we are comforted in knowing that he is at peace with our Heavenly Father, watching over all of us. Vincent was welcomed into Heaven by his sister, Juanita, his grandparents, his great grandparents, his aunt Mela, and uncles Javier, Juan Galindo, Juan Lopez, Lupe, Leonel, and Idelfonso. He is survived by his wife, his children, Anali (Salvador) Soto, Cristal, Gabriela, Vincent III, and his beloved granddaughter, Sofia; his parents Vicente and Mela Galindo; his siblings Magda (Fernando) Martinez, Martin (Gladys) Galindo, Maria (Clayton) Charlesworth, and Lupe (Aimee) Galindo; his special niece who was like a daughter to him, Veronica; his mother and father in law, Ignacio and Connie Salinas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 P.M. at St. Pauls Catholic Church.
