Virginia Blom Obituary Virginia Ellinor Mulder Blom, 88, of Boise Idaho went to her heavenly home on February 21, 2025.
Virginia was born on April 22, 1936 to John and Henrietta Mulder in Edgerton, Minnesota. As a child she enjoyed the freedom of running through the neighborhood with her cousins and friends until the water tower siren alerted them that it was time to go home and eat. She attended Edgerton High School, where she met the "love of her life" John W Blom. When her parents moved the family to Bellflower, California, her 17-year-old boyfriend, John, wasnt far behind. Virginia attended and graduated from Bellflower High School where she also played clarinet in the marching band. Virginia married John on March 25, 1955 and they had four children; Steve, Lori, Juli, and John.
She had various jobs, along with caring for her home and family. She worked in a Christmas card factory, a post office, as a school cook, did shipping and delivery for Johns watch repair business, and worked twelve years as a crossing guard. After retiring in 1998, she and John moved back to Idaho and settled in Boise. Virginia loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus, with all of her heart. She was very active in her local church and at times filled the role of Sunday School Superintendent, led womens ministries, and Bible studies. She was spunky and outgoing, never knowing a stranger but most of all was known for her kindness as she was always thinking of others. Virginia had a stuffed dog named Shirley that became the "Comfort Dog" at Grace Assisted Living where Virginia resided. When someone was having a hard day Virginia would loan Shirley out. Shirley will continue to bring comfort to others in Virginias absence.
Virginia is survived by her four children; Steve Blom, Lori (Bill) Mogensen, Juli (Doug) VandenBosch, John (Raquel) Blom; 23 grandchildren and their spouses; 26 great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Blom; daughter-in-law Bonnie Blom; and granddaughter Katie Mogensen.
