Obituary

Virginia Kircher Obituary Virginia Helen Janes Kircher, beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and friend, went to be with her Savior on December 2, 2023, at the age of 97. She was born on March 3, 1926, in Wendell, Idaho, to William and Josephine (Pisklak) Janes. She was the only daughter of these Czech immigrants but she had two half-sisters and a half-brother. She grew up speaking Czech in the home, and became an excellent student and always loved learning. She endured a serious illness during her high school years, and once she recovered, her parents had her live with her half-sister Wilmas young family in Jerome, which cemented a lifelong bond and strong friendship between the two, and their children. Virginia graduated in 1943 and began working at the local bank. In 1946, a handsome young man moved to Jerome to become the high school music teacher. That fun-loving, music-loving man, Winfield (Win) Scott Kircher, Jr, became her husband on August 3, 1947. Their marriage became a beautiful partnership in faith, family, and community involvement through music. Virginia and Win worshiped with daily devotions, a practice that undergirded all of their other work. They were active in their churches, always involving their children of which they were blessed with 5. They raised their children with music in their home and lives. Their involvement in church worship was caught by their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and many are active in worship ministries today. Virginia supported Win as he completed his Masters of Education degree and throughout the nearly 40 years he taught in the public schools and private lessons. Win supported Virginia in her involvement in church and community activities, and they both encouraged and helped one another in their service work. Theirs was a fruitful life in both relationships and love. Virginia was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nampa, ID, where she was in the Womens League, a Eucharist Minister, a Lector, and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Musettes Womens Chorus in Nampa, and the Nampa Musicale. She was active in Chapter AX P.E.O, Nampa Valley Grange, Pomona & National Granges, and the Nampa Civic Center Auxiliary. She treasured the many friends she made over the years. After Wins death in 2011, Virginia came to live with Kevin and Judy for four years. As her health declined, she took up residence at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley in Boise. Her friendships there with residents, roommates, and staff were especially significant and comforting in those years. Their careful love and attention are greatly appreciated. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Winfield, leaving a legacy of 63 years of faithful marriage. She is survived by her children, Susan & Arnold Young of Boise, Kevin & Judy Kircher of Boise, Nicholas & Kathryn Kircher of Fort Wayne, IN, Kathleen & Michael Lollar of Loveland, CO, and Stephen & Kaeko Kircher of Fairbanks, AK. She had 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 18 in-law spouses she loved and prayed for as her own. Virginias faith was deepened in her later years as she pondered the meaning of the Lords salvation on her behalf and as she searched the scriptures. She knew Christ was her "all in all", and she came to have a deeply confident and childlike trust in Him that carried her through the suffering of her later years with great grace and peace. She can truly say, "Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!" 1 Corinthians 15:54b57 Visitation will be on Friday, December 8, at the Nampa Funeral Home at 3 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow immediately at 4 p.m., with a dinner to follow at the Nampa Valley Grange hall.
