Vivian Virginia Burnett passed away on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at a local care facility. She was 94 years old. Vivian was born on July 2, 1916 in Imperial, Nebraska to Rufus and Aldie Martin. Vivian was diagnosed with spinal meningitis when she was three and struggled with many challenges through her life from it. She lived in Nebraska until moving to Boise in 1952. She married George Burnett on July 4, 1952. Their son, George was born the following year. Vivian and George were married for 31 years before George passed away in June of 1983. Vivian was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Boise and had many dear friends. She moved to the Heritage Retirement Center in Nampa and then later to Nampa Care Center.
She is survived by her son George and wife Jayne of Nampa; two grandchildren, Todd (Susan) of Boise and Amanda (Mark) Tompkins of Caldwell; and one great granddaughter, Addilyn of Caldwell; and extended family members of the Burns and McCluskeys.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband George; her parents; brothers, Glen and Jay; and sister, Ruby.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the people at Nampa Care Center who were so very wonderful to Mom during her last years and also to a special lady Lorene whose visits were so comforting.
A viewing will be held on Monday morning Aug. 9, 2010 starting at 11:00 A.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel followed by a graveside service at 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery in Boise.
