IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vivian
Gunderson
November 22, 1919 – January 20, 2012
Vivian Gunderson went to a higher place on January 20th 2012. She was born on November 22nd 1919 to Charlie and LaVon Center in Nampa Idaho. She was the second baby and first baby girl born at Mercy Hospital. She was raised and schooled in Nampa Idaho. When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange.
She married Lyle Gunderson at a young age and they did not hesitate to start their family of 5 children and commence their life long memories. Vivian was a multi tasking genius juggling 5 children and multiple talents such as PTAPresident, teaching square dance lessons, giving haircuts to many a kid beside her own, performing magic as a seamstress, and upholstering whatever came her way. After the children were grown and gone she continued her career at Terry's Home Furniture as a prized sales person.
Golf was her pleasure and past time. If she wasn't playing golf with the ladies she was playing bridge with them. She also loved to create paintings which are still hanging on the walls of many friends and family today.
Flowers were another past time and Lyle made sure she had plenty to do because he couldn't tell the difference between a weed and a flower.
In the latter days of her life she still amazed all of us with her wisdom and knowledge of not only history but of current events. She was an avid sports person and could tell you whatever you wanted to know about most any sporting event or person.
Her greatest accomplishment was the 74 years of marriage to Lyle before he passed.
Moms are a gift and this mom deserves a round of applause for doing a job well done.
Vivian is survived by her son Ed Gunderson and wife Kim of Arizona, daughter Kaaran Dillon and husband Jim of Nampa, Daughter-in-law Norah Gunderson of South Carolina, many grandchildren and great grand children were also very special to her as well as her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, Husband Lyle her Sister Norma and her 3 sons, Darrell, Lynn and Larry.
We would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Clearwater Assisted Living and to the girls of Journeys Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, hit a golf ball, plant a flower, complete a cross word puzzle, or say 7 no trump at the bridge table in honor of Vivian.
Thank God for a long and fruitful life.
