Walter Woodrow Wilson, 100, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Nampa, Idaho. Walter was born on December 16, 1914 in Boise, Idaho to Thomas and May Wilson, the eighth of ten children. He attended school in Boise, Moscow and Nampa, where he graduated in 1933. Walter met Alberta Schwalbe at a Valentines Day dance in 1934. They became engaged in August and were married on June 1, 1935. They spent the next 68 years together until Alberta passed away in 2003. Together they operated a wholesale produce business and enjoyed a lifetime of memorable hunting and fishing experiences in Idaho and Alaska. They were proud of the beautiful flowers, healthy garden vegetables, and delicious fruits and berries they raised on their 2 acres of land located on Lake Lowell Avenue, west of Nampa.
Walter is survived by his son and daughter in law, Walter R. and Myra Wilson of Alaska; grandchildren, Maria Chythlook of Alaska and Thomas Wilson (Mari) of Japan; great grandchildren, Alex, Naomi, Anamarieka and Jonathon Chythlook and Lily and Leo Wilson; and many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta; his parents; and 9 siblings.
Walter R. and Myra would like to express their appreciation to Dianne Doelitzch, Roger Price and his caregivers and office personnel from Home Care Solutions and the personnel from Heritage Hospice facility.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
