Wesley (Wes) Roger Schober was born on November 26, 1925, in Long Beach, CA and passed away on July 2, 2017. Wes father worked for the railroad bringing them to Nampa, Idaho in 1941. He attended Nampa High School and graduated in 1943. After high school, Wes joined the U.S. Navy and spent two years stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. It was in high school that Wes met the love of his life, Betty Mae (Plush), whom he married December 22, 1948 after exiting the Navy. Wes had a singular life-long goal of becoming a farmer, and he achieved his dream of farming for almost 70 years. It was while still pursuing his calling that he fell while looking at irrigation water and suffered injuries that eventually led to his passing. In addition to farming, Wes served on numerous agricultural related boards, the Nampa Christian School Board, and the Planning and Zoning commission of both the City of Nampa and Canyon County. Wes is survived by his sister Lois Casper, Nampa, ID; his four children, Joan (Allen) Sundsmo, Grand Rapids, MI., Jeanette Schober, Roger (Christy) Schober, and Robb (Jackie) Schober all of Nampa, ID; grandchildren Drs. Joy (Brett) Farley, Aaron (Kaarli) Sundsmo, and Dr. Alecia (Matt) Smith, Brittany Schober, and Ryan Schober; and his great-grandchildren, Garret, Bryce, and Griffin Farley, Kaleb and Logan Sundsmo, and Sofia Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Laura Schober and his wife, Betty Mae Schober. A viewing will be held for family and friends on Thursday, July 6, from 4:00 7:00 pm at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Additional viewing will be held on Friday, July 7, at 11:00 am with a memorial service at 1:00 pm, both at Nampa First Church of the Nazarene. A graveside service will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
