Were all far from perfect, but we have a God uniqueness that can never be replaced. The impact of one spirit is immeasurable.

William 'Bill' Toomey passed away at his home (on his own terms), on Wednesday August 10, 2011. Bill was foremost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bill loved his family and friends, first and foremost. He led a simple life with simple pleasures and devoted most of his cares and life to his family.

Bill is survived by the love of his life Barbara Toomey. Bill, along with his first wife, Dorothy Toomey had 4 children; Debbie Frazer (Mal) of Pittsfield, MA; Patrick Toomey (Mary) of Baltimore, MD; Mike Toomey (Karen) of Jefferson, NC. Barbara Toomey, mother of Cindy Warner (Michael) of Meridian, ID, and Tony Nye (Maureen) of Lakewood, CO. Bill is survived by 2 sisters, Julia and Patty; a brother, Ernie; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his little dog Britney. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father, son Daniel and two sisters, Rosemary and Elaine. Bill was born in Pittsfield, MA March 14th, 1935. A devoted Red Soxs fan, so much to the point that his name will always remain in the Red Sox's stadium with a plate in his honor. He served our country for 23 years in U.S Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Then after retirement from the Air Force, he worked at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO. Once he finally hung up his hat and decided to retire, Bill and his wife Barbara moved to Nampa, Idaho to be closer to family. Bill was a wonderful, outgoing, open-hearted and very intelligent man who would take the shirt off his back and gladly give it up for anyone he could. Bill was the type of man who could light up the room with a simple smile; joke and you would never miss his unmistakable or unforgettable beautiful bright blue eyes. As with any fallen soldier, Bill will be sorely missed, but he will never be forgotten.

We were not ready for you to leave us, but we know where you wanted to be, pain free and with our Lord in heaven. We will miss you Bill, Your loving family and friends.

Bills family will greet friends and family at a viewing on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011from 4:00to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A memorial service with military rites will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise.
