William Weldon Obituary William H. "Bill" Weldon, a resident of Boise, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021 at the age of 91. Bill was born June 9, 1929 in Boise to Joe and Esther Weldon. He moved to Burley, Idaho at a young age and graduated from Burley High School in 1947. He married Marcella Jean Hiatt, his high school sweetheart, in 1948. They would have celebrated their 73rd anniversary in August. Bill worked as a salesman for Basche Sage Hardware and retired from Jensen Byrd Hardware. Bill and Marcella enjoyed many years wintering in Arizona in their 5th wheel with friends from Idaho and beyond. They never missed a spontaneous outing or a happy hour. Bill and Marcella taught their four children the importance of family, love and hard work. His kids and grandkids remember him as kind, driven and a friend to everyone. Nothing pleased him more than seeing them educated and successful. And they knew right away when he wasnt pleased with them. The list of people who considered Bill a friend would fill this page. Bill loved to fall trees and chop wood at their cabin at Eagle Creek. He golfed, fished, loved to boat, hunt pheasants and trap shoot. He was a lifelong member of the Lions Club, the Elks Lodge and the Cathedral of the Rockies Methodist Church. They always arrived early on Sunday to have coffee with their friends. Bill is survived by his wife Marcella; children Penny (Tom) Huck, Pam (Larry) Bigelow, Patty (Jeff) Johnson, and John (Judi) Weldon; sisters, Nancy Wilson and Jane Cosse. He was Papa to 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, JoAnn Hinz and grandson, Jacob Weldon. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00, Friday, March 26, at Nampa Funeral Home-Yraguen Chapel. Pastor Duane Anders will officiate.
