Wretha Marie Matthews, 91, of Nampa, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in a Boise hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Private family concluding services will be held in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise.Wretha was born on February 20, 1919 in Sawyer, North Dakota to Arley and Muriel Irwin. At the age of 10 she moved with her family to Nampa where she was raised and educated, graduating from Nampa High School in 1938. She became a beautician at the age of 22.

She married Claire Fuson and they had one daughter. This marriage ended in divorce and she married Richard "Dick" Matthews in 1950.

Wretha was the owner of her own beauty shop called "Wrethas Beauty Salon" on 12th Ave. So. in Nampa where she worked for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Shagaye (Norman) Dalton of Nampa; three grandchildren, Mike, Tauni and Kristi; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
