Yvonne was born and raised in Bombay, India. Yvonne attended and graduated from a convent boarding school. Upon graduation she trained to learn the cord board as a switchboard operator. She also attended college and received an Arts & Crafts certificate. She went on to become an Art teacher to pre-school and kindergarten aged children while living in India.

When Yvonne was 23 years old, she immigrated to Sydney, Australia and became an Australian citizen with her older sister. During her time in Australia, she met her husband Walt while he was on leave from the U.S. Army. After 2 weeks of dating, they were engaged and later married. Yvonne had her first child, Sharon, while living in Sydney, Australia. She later immigrated to America and became a U.S. citizen.

Yvonne together with her husband decided to make their home in Nampa, ID with their oldest daughter, Sharon. Later they had 2 more daughters, Laura and Valerie. Yvonne stayed home raising her daughters and managing the home for a while. Once her children were school age, she attended a program that trained her to be a secretary and received a certified certificate that she was proud of. She also sold Avon to many in the local community and was known as the "Avon Lady" which she loved. Yvonne retired from selling Avon for over 30 years.

Yvonne was in regular attendance of church services and looked forward to church functions. Yvonne often mentioned her love of Jesus, while doing her best to share her faith with those around her. She fully trusted in God's grace to all who believe in Jesus which was reflected in her favorite song, Amazing Grace. She had many friends who she looked forward to visiting. Yvonne was known to always be put together including her well-manicured nails she did herself on a regular basis. She enjoyed old movies, especially anything with Elvis, watched soap operas, and television shows that made her laugh.
