Albert Walker Obituary

Albert Toney (Frosty) Walker was born on October 3rd, 1942 in Mountain Home, AR to William Albert Walker and Mary Toney Walker. He passed away at home in Nampa, ID on May 25, 2020 at the age of 77.

Toney was determined to befriend everyone he met and had a story or five for anyone who had a willing ear. His easy, crinkly eyed smile was freely given to all. He had been known to change folk’s oil and brake pads if they let their car sit for too long in front of him. He just couldn’t resist helping a person out, especially if it involved tinkering with some tools.

Toney grew up on the family farm in Buford, AR. He spent his younger years getting into as much mischief as he could - but never too much. His most famous adventure involved driving his motorcycle up the stairs of the Baxter County courthouse, through the hallways, and down the stairs on the other side. After he put his rebellious ways behind him, he spent his later years imparting the wisdom gained as a young rascal to his children and grandchildren. It’s not known if he was trying to deter us from following in his footsteps or encouraging us to get up to our own mischief. Likely it was both, knowing Toney.

Toney was a traveler by profession and nature. He spent years hauling freight cross country and in retirement retained his great love of road trips. If you needed a companion to go see a mountain or look at the ocean, Toney was your man. Since he missed so much of the world by not being able to hear it properly, the way he shared the world was by simply looking at it in wonder with the people he cared about.

Toney loved his family and friends as no one, but he could. He was loved and will be greatly missed in return.

He was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Willie and Vernon, and sisters Vera Graham, Ethel Andrews, and Mary Lou, and Nona Timmons and Helen Walker. He is survived by sons Bill (Alice) of Boise, Jim (Chan) of Nampa, ID, and daughters Tammy Hall of Rupert, ID, Toni Williams (Ellis) of Mountain Home, ID, Mary Meadows, Olivia Flowers (John) of Mountain Home, AR and Kelly of Portland, OR, 17 grandchildren and plethora of great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Nampa Funeral Home -Yraguen Chapel in Nampa, ID.
