Alfredo Molina Obituary

ALREDO F. MOLINA January 31, 1966 – September 5, 2021

Alfredo F. Molina “Shorty”, 55, of Nampa, Idaho passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Afton, Wyoming due to heart related issues. Shorty was born in Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jose V. Molina and Albina F. Molina.

Shorty attended elementary school in Zaragoza, Chihuahua up to 5th grade and when our family migrated to Idaho, he attended schools in the Nampa School District until he graduated from Nampa High School in 1984 and briefly attended Boise State University.  He then enrolled in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on April 2, 1999. While in the Army National Guard, Shorty received the following awards:

Idaho Service Ribbon – 950403–960402
Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal – 950403-980402
Military Division – 100% Drill Attendance in 1996, 158th Engineer Detachment
Certificate of Promotion to Private 2 – March 8, 1996
Department of the Army: The Army Achievement Medal, “Professionalism, attitude and motivation during the completion of the range project, on-range 10, PFC Molina exceeded the standards in the tasks of walking the walls and setting rafters. PFC Molina brings great credit to his section, the 158th Engineer Detachment and the Idaho Army National Guard.”
Military Division: Special Achievement Award, “Private Second Class Molina received honor graduate while assigned to the 51B10 Engineer course during IADT.  Private Second Class Molina also received Certificate of Appreciation for motivation and initiative in his class.”
Honorable Discharge – Specialist Alfredo F. Molina, Installation Support Unit, April 2, 1999

Immediately after high school, Alfredo had three children, Jaye J. Molina, Jeffrey (Veronica) Molina, and Melisa (Derek) Jones.  Shorty had two grandchildren, Alex Molina and Sophie Molina Jones, who were Shorty’s pride and joy! Shorty had been single for several years before he met and married Lucy Perez Molina on January 2, 2021, at which point, Shorty gained another loving family.  Lucy and her children, Genesis Hernandez (Victor Ramirez), Princesa (Ricardo) Martinez, Francisco Hernandez, and Julio Hernandez, and grandkids Victor Ramirez, Naya Ramirez, Ayana Ramirez, Mario Hernandez, Leonel Hernandez, and Emilio Martinez.  Lucy had brought so much happiness into Shorty’s life and vice versa, which was evident by their smiles, looks they’d give each other and the respectful nature of their relationship.  Lucy was such a blessing in Shorty’s life, even though it was only for a few months.

Shorty worked for many years at Woodgrain Millwork in Nampa.  He then transferred to Fleetwood Homes of Nampa, where he was working for the past 15 years as a Supervisor.  Shorty had many work colleagues that became lifelong friends.  So many people from both Woodgrain and Fleetwood have expressed their condolences to the family and stated how much they will miss him.  Shorty’s favorite hangout was the Firehouse in Nampa, where he formed additional close, lifelong friendships.  Anyone that knew Shorty, knew he would only get his hair cut by Cindy of Garrity Barber Shop.  He was well liked and respected by many around him.  He had an amazing work ethic and as a Supervisor, Shorty was fair to those he worked with.

Shorty is survived by his wife, Lucy P. Molina and her children (Genesis, Princesa, Francisco and Julio) and his children, Jaye J. Molina, Jeff (Veronica) Molina, and Melisa (Derek) Jones, his siblings, Jose F. Molina, Irma (Bill) Molina-Ruby, Elizabeth (Martin) Lopez, and Armida (Pablo) Molina-Medina.  Nieces and nephews include Lisa Molina, Juanita (Enrique) Romero, Irma B. Molina, Ida (Roque) Rodriguez, Jose B. Molina, Cristina (Clemente) Mata, Fidel Molina, Becky (Omar) Gomez, Enrique (Patty) Molina, Rafael (Jessica) Molina, Johnny Molina, Isabel (Jose) Rodriguez, Gloria (Fernando) Rodriguez, Veronica Molina, Liliana (Lorenzo) Munoz Campos, JR Rodriguez, Joaquin Ruby, Martin (Cristina) Lopez, Santiago Molina, Anna (Alanzo) Patterson, Maria Lopez, Samantha Prieto, Victoria Molina P. and Anahi Medina. Shorty had many great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by mom and dad, and two brothers, Santiago Molina and Enrique Molina.

Shorty, without doubt, loved the Dallas Cowboys! He was their #1 fan and will now have front row seats!
