Alice Lee Schaefer, 92, of Nampa, passed away on Thursday, September 27th, 2018. An inurnment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Saturday, October 20. 2018 at 10:00 am. followed by a memorial service at 11:30 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, 404 Nectarine St., Nampa. Alice Lee Schaefer was born Alice Lee Saltz on May 2, 1926 in Salina Oklahoma to Charles T. Saltz and Mable L Tuttle-Saltz. Her family moved to Idaho when she was eight, where she graduated from Notus High School. After high school, Alice worked various jobs before she began working at Simplot Potato. It was there she met the love of her life, Karl Schaefer. They met in April and were married three months later on July 28, 1946. They made their home in Nampa and raised two boys. Alice was employed as a hairdresser for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed, sewing, camping, fishing, traveling, and being with family & good friends.
Alice is survived by her two sons, Michel and Charles “Ron” Schaefer, Daughter-in-law Sharon Schaefer; four granddaughters, Lori (Charlie) Silcox, Sandi (Chris) Belson, Melinda (Thomas) Chynoweth, and Manda Jane; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Karl P. Schaefer; Daughter-in-law Janice Schaefer; Granddaughter Melissa Schaefer-Farris; her parents; and her brother.
