Cirilo Leal Martinez,76, of Nampa passed away on August 11, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Oct.6, 1946 in Alamo Texas to Fidencio Martinez and Concepcion Leal. After losing his father at age 12, Cirilo left school to work full time and help his family economically. He later, along with his mom and sisters began following the seasonal crops throughout the Western United States. He eventually lived in Florida and then went back to Texas. He became a Security Officer and worked at various banks and government offices in Texas. In 1988 he moved to Idaho where he met his wife Aurora and began working at Karcher Mall as a security officer. He enjoyed 36 blessed years married to Aurora and working at Karcher Mall for sixteen years. There he made countless friends who to this day remember him well. One of his greatest pleasures was dressing up as Santa Claus during the Christmas season and greeting and taking pictures with hundreds of children at Karcher Mall. He also served as Santa at various schools in Nampa. Cirilo and his wife Aurora along with one of his daughters and granddaughter were well known for singing at various Catholic parishes throughout the treasure valley. Cirilo also played his bajo sexto and sang with various Tejano bands. He was recognized as one of the best bajo sexto players in the area. Cirilo loved to harmonize with whomever he was singing with, especially his wife. Everyone he met enjoyed his endless jokes and good humor. He knew no stranger for all became his friends. You could hear laughter wherever he was.
Cirilo is survived by his beloved wife, Aurora, his children from his first and second marriage, Angie Olson (Phillip)AZ, Herminia Martinez (Julio)Meridian, Virginia Martinez Garcia (Claudio), Tereza Dunchock (Richard)Meridian. Six sisters, Rafaela Sanchez, Reedley, CA., Victorian Landez, Pharr, TX, Maria Martinez, Pharr, TX, Oralia Sanchez, Pharr, TX, Margarita Garza, Pharr TX, and Maria Luisa Garcia, Naples, FLA., Seventeen grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and two sons.
Cirilo will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and joyful approach to life. He was a kind and noble man who made his surroundings a great place to be. Go in peace Cirilo to be in the presence of your Loving Creator and enjoy a joyful reunion with family and friends now in paradise.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Aug 16, 2023, with a rosary at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel at 7:00 P.M. and Mass will be Celebrated at St Paul's Catholic Church on Roosevelt in Nampa on Friday, Aug 18, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. followed by the burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
