Donald “Don” Weerheim April 25, 1949 - September 8, 2022, of Boise, ID passed away at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center. Don was born in Corsica, South Dakota to Harry and Mary Weerheim. When Don was just a year old his parents decided to move out West and landed in Emmett, ID where Don reminded until he attended Boise College. Growing up Don’s parents owned a dairy farm and he always said he would do anything to help them but didn’t want to be married to a farm, so he knew he wanted to go to college to be able to move away from farming. In High School Don played Basketball, Football, and Baseball. Don graduated Emmett High School in 1967 and that fall attended Boise College where he later graduated with a horticulture degree. While going to college he worked at Cook’s Greenhouse. After graduation he went to work for the City of Boise in Urban forestry. He left that job for a short time but went back to it and worked there for over 30 years. In August 1969 Don was blessed with his first daughter Tina (Weerheim) Smith from his first marriage. In 1980 he met and married the love of his life Pamela (VanEps) Weerheim, along with her son Christopher. Together they completed their family with the birth of their daughter Emily (Weerheim) Van Horn. Don never met a stranger. He loved to visit with anyone and everyone. He was a diehard BSU Football fan and went to almost every home game, and a few away games, for over 30 years. Somehow, he was also a diehard New York Yankees and a Green Bay Packers fan. Don enjoyed a simple life but loved nothing more than spending time with his grandsons Aaron, Nathan, and William Van Horn, who lovingly called him Old Man. He is proceeded in death by his father, Harry Weerheim; wife, Pam Weerheim; daughter, Tina Smith; and son-in-law Jerry Smith. He is survived by; mother, Mary Weerheim of Emmett, ID; son, Christopher Weerheim of Port Saint Lucie, FL; daughter, Emily (George) Van Horn of Boise, ID; and his grandsons Aaron, Nathan, and William. Don will be missed by so many. He was so full of knowledge and always there to help others. There will be a celebration of life on October 2, 2022, at Cassia Park (4600 W Camas St, Boise, ID 83705) 1pm - 3pm. Please come celebrate Don’s life and share stories. Don’s daughter would like to thank the ICU and 4 South staff at St. Luke’s for taking such amazing care of my father.
