Elias Bernal Gutierrez Obituary

Elias Jesus Bernal Gutierrez, 22, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on March 14, 2023.

Elias was born on May 15, 2000, to his loving mom, Lucinda Bernal and Jesus Ignacio Gutierrez in Nampa, ID. Elias graduated from Skyview High School in 2018. In Elias’ own words he described his work ethic; “My name is Elias Bernal Gutierrez. I’ve been doing sanitation for 5 years. I’m certified in first aid safety. I have tons of experience with handling chemicals. I’m trained in safety, lock out tag out, and running a crew. I take lots of pride in my work”.

Elias was raised and schooled in Nampa, ID. As a young boy, Elias played baseball for several years for Nampa Babe Ruth. Baseball helped create a bond with his cousins and Uncles that will forever be cherished.

Elias was the kindest and most loyal person. He loved his family and friends. He was the kind of person anyone could call a friend. Elias had a love for food and music, which he shared with all who knew him. You could always catch Elias eatin’ it up at a family BBQ. He especially loved his family’s food, but he had a weak spot for his uncles’ cooking. He enjoyed other activities like boating, going out with friends, anything outdoors, and walking his furry nephew, Axel.

Although Elias enjoyed hunting, he had a special love for fishing that he shared with friends and family. Elias loved fishing so much. It didn’t matter where he was at. If there was a body of water, he was there with his fishing pole. His family will cherish those special moments forever.

Elias was a big kid, anyone who knew him would tell you that he had the biggest heart. But don’t get it twisted, he was also the protector of his friends and family, especially his mom and his siblings. Elias also had a strong bond with his grandma, Patricia Salas. Who although is small in size, she was his protector and wouldn’t let anyone mess with her Lyle. Elias shared a strong connection with his grandpa, Juan, who lived with Elias his whole life.

Mijo, words will never come close to describe the person you were. You were loving, kind and compassionate with a heart of gold. We will forever hold and cherish your memories. You are a true blessing to us. Our family is devastated and shocked by this sudden loss. There aren’t enough words or paper to express how much Elias was loved. He will be remembered for the gentleman he was.

Elias is survived by his mom, Lucinda Bernal (Tony), dad, Jesus I. Gutierrez(Lydia), sisters Annalise Bernal Gutierrez(Emmanuel), and Annabelle Bernal Gutierrez(Joaquin), niece, Baby Cinda, baby brother, Ezavier Bernal Gutierrez , grandma, Patricia Salas, Grandpa, Juan Bernal Sr., Great-grandma, Mary Ybarra, step-brothers and step-sisters, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Elias is proceeded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Dominga and Rodolfo Bernal, Great-Grandpa, Jesse Salas, Grandpa Arunlfo Gutierrez Sr, Grandma Julia,  uncle, William A. Simpson,  aunts Maria D. Cortez, Nina Ybarra, cousin Isaac Bernal, and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Elias will be laid to rest next to his great-grandpa, Jesse, who so lovingly and innocently gifted him with the nickname, Lyle, during a trip to Craters of the Moon in 2012.

Elias, you will never be forgotten.
