Faye Boyd Obituary

Faye Marlynn Boyd passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 26th 2021, in Nampa, Idaho at St. Alphonsus Hospital after a long battle with Covid-19.

Faye was born on March 2nd 1952, in Delta, Colorado to Helen P. Higgs and Joseph W. Higgs. She was the youngest sister to six older brothers, and oldest of the four sisters. She grew up and attended all 12 grades in the Delta school district. Faye followed her dream of attending college in Nampa, Idaho at Northwest Nazarene College, graduating with her degree in education.

Faye married the love of her life, Kelvin D. Boyd, on August 4th 1979 at College Church of the Nazarene. They recently celebrated 42 wonderful years together. Their marriage was full of memories, church fellowship, game nights and extensive travels. Faye and Kelvin worked on mission trips in both Mozambique and Venezuela. A favorite pastime of theirs was camping, along with lots of travels to visit Faye's siblings and nieces and nephews.

Faye was mother to Kelvin J. Boyd and Elva L. Boyd, grandmother to three grandchildren, Janoxia, Jacob and Jerrin. Her kids and grandkids were the light of her life. There wasn’t a day she was not involved, playing games, making snacks, going on trips, and making sure Jesus was the focus.

She was devoted first to her Lord, her family, and her 30-year career teaching elementary education for Nampa School District. Her family has loved hearing stories from former students and staff she worked with about how Faye impacted their lives.

In her retired years, Faye devoted more time to church activities and friends, and enjoyed amazing trips with Kelvin to Israel, Ireland and Cabo San Lucas. Making memories with her family was her greatest joy.

Faye is survived by her husband, Kelvin D. Boyd; son, Kelvin J. Boyd and daughter and son-in-law, Elva L. and James Gannon; her three grandchildren, Janoxia, Jacob, Jerrin;  two brothers Joe Higgs and Johhny Higgs; three sisters, Anita Siewert, Linda Williams, and Lorna Sleeper. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Helen Higgs, older brothers Randall and wife Norma Jean Higgs, Eugene Higgs, Paul Higgs, Bruce Higgs, Sisters-in-law Arthada Higgs, Renee Higgs, Brothers-in-law Alan Shaw, John Williams.
