Geraldine Louise Perego Boone, 89, of Nampa passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 14th, 2022.
She was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 5, 1933, to Mother Barbara (Dunlap) Perego, and Father, Alfred Perego. After high-school graduation, Gerry left Wisconsin to attend college at the University of Colorado.
In November of 1972, Gerry married Daniel Wood Boone and began her greatest and most cherished adventure. Daniel’s Air Force career afforded them the ability to see the world! They lived in Germany, Norway, and the Philippines as well as Florida, Colorado, and California.
After Daniel’s retirement, they relocated to Idaho where they both lived the remainder of their lives. Gerry was a generous and engaged member of the Nampa community. She participated in Kiwanis, Women’s Century Club, The National Federation of Republican Women, as well as volunteered with Pet Haven and many other organizations. She provided a safe and loving home to many rescued cats and dogs! She loved living in Nampa.
Travel was her life-long passion! Gerry turned that passion into a career when she became a travel agent, culminating with her opening her own agency, Boone Travel. Few can say they have taken more than 50 cruises – however those joined by family were always her favorite! Her passion for cruising has been passed on to her family and many friends.
On Friday evenings, you would find her at Chapala’s, margarita in-hand, laughing with her family and friends, celebrating another week together!
Oma is survived by her daughter, Wendy Boggess Wheeler and her sons Chip Watson (Felicia) and Mark Watson (Joye). Along with her grandchildren Dara Solliday, Dawne Watson, Jared Boggess (Sarah Gould), MJ Watson and Amanda Watson Bromund and her great-grandchildren Zane Benda, Bella Boggess, Treyton Butterfield, Desmond Bromund, and McGregor Bromund.
She was joyfully reunited with her husband Daniel, her son Douglas Watson, son-in-law Joe Boggess and dear friend Jean Aud.
We will remember her for her generosity, love of family, kindness, and laughter!
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at 11 AM at Southside Methodist Church, 5420 Southside Blvd, Nampa, ID 83686. All are welcome! Arrangements are under the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
