Obituary

Dad was born August 31, 1929, the oldest of four children to Chauncey D. Bixler & Rosetta Grace Fleck Bixler in Heyburn, ID.

He played sports in school & basketball was his passion.  After high school he attended college at Albian, ID.  He served in the US Army from 1948-1952 returning to Heyburn to start his career as an Electrician.

He married Elma McBride February 25, 1961, who brought a readymade family of 4 children - Cecilia, Julie, Danny & Tom.  Steve was born in February 1962.  The family moved to Nampa in May 1962 and Tinna was born in July 1963.

He worked for Johnson Electric from 1962-1965 when he had an off-duty accident causing the loss of his leg.  After his recovery he started GB Electric where he worked until his retirement.

Dad's real passion in life was racehorses.  His horses raced all over the pacific Northwest, creating lifelong friendships along the way.  He was a past member & President of the Boise Valley Chariot Racing Association, and active in the Idaho Wranglers riding club.

The family will hold a celebration of life on September 17, 2022, at the farm in Nampa (1905 S. Robinson Blvd) from 2-6pm, open to all family & friends.  There will be a brief military ceremony @ 2:30 pm followed by a meal.

Dad is survived by his wife Elma, children Cecilia & Gene Sparks, Julie & Bob Vincent, Tom & Adell DeGiulio, Steve & Cindy Bixler, Tinna & Lonnie Neifert all of Nampa, and Danny & Doreen DeGiulio of Pingree, Brother Jack & Patsy Bixler of Twin Falls, several nieces & nephews, and a boat load of grandchildren, greats, & a great great.
