Imogene Ogle Obituary

Imogene Belle Ogle left the world peacefully on April 5, 2022, following a five- year battle with cancer. She was born in Waverly, Illinois on April 7, 1930 to H.E. “Buster” Jones and Avis Flynn Jones. All of moms’ immediate family members had nicknames and she was “Willy!”.   Her mother passed away when she was 9 years old, and she was raised by her father and stepmother Irena May Jones.  Imogene married Leland W. Ogle in 1953 in Jacksonville, Illinois and had three children Brenda (Hank) Radar of Caldwell, Idaho, Richard Wesley Ogle (deceased) and Gayle Ogle Weatherby of Nampa, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, her parents, two sisters, one brother, and her granddaughter Melissa Norris.

She is survived by her two daughters Brenda and Gayle, younger brother David Pierce Jones (nickname Hotshot) of McMinnville, Oregon, grandson’s David Lee Weatherby (Nampa), Matt Simonsen (Elaine) Kershaw, S.C., Jack D. Simonsen (Jamie) Elko, Nv., Rob Norris Riverton, UT; great grandchildren Kassandra Westerwelle (Max) Carlin, NV and their 3 girls, Derek Morfin Harriman, UT, Grady Norris Riverton, UT.; through blended marriages she has many other loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lee and Imogene moved from Jacksonville, Illinois to Boise Idaho in 1969 and she began working for the new Buttery-Osco store as their cosmetician. During retirement Mom and Dad spent many winters snow birding in Arizona where they met many wonderful lifelong friends. They enjoyed camping in their 1970’s green VW camper van and upgraded later to a 5th wheel, Roadway Chapel Summer Bus trips, cruises, BSU basketball games, baseball and softball games at Ann Morrison Park.  Mom loved playing her organ and attending group lessons with her Dunkley Music group.  They later moved into a retirement community in Nampa where mom resided at her time of death. There she enjoyed many friends and neighbors with game nights, weekly card groups and Saturday morning coffees.  She loved helping with Church of the Brethren’s Holiday bazaars.

The family would like to thank the First Choice Hospice staff especially Michelle and Lianne; a thanks is given to Debbie Wedeven, her caregiver; our friends that helped mom, Betsy Howard, Barbara Pukstas, and Sue Montgomery for their faithful friendship.

Our mother was blessed to have lived a great life.

Her memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Nampa Church of the Brethren - 11030 Orchard Ave. (road construction will say local traffic only; local traffic includes the church; alternate route would be Midway Rd. to Orchard to the corner of Orchard and Middleton Rd.  ~ a new stoplight and road expansion is occurring at the corner of Orchard and Middleton where the church is located)

In lieu of flowers spend some time enjoying the sunny weather and think of her! Or a donation to St Jude's Childrens Hospital, The Lighthouse Mission, Interfaith Sanctuary or a donation of your choice.
