Jonathan “Jon” Kelly Taylor, 58, of Nampa, ID passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 25, 2021 of natural causes.
Jon was born to Richard LeRoy and Kathleen Dana Taylor on October 16, 1962 in Boise, ID. Jon was a lifelong mechanic, working on anything from semi trucks to a remote control boat with a motor from a weed eater and everything in between. Jon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jon was a great story teller and enjoyed sharing memories with family and friends, especially the Owyhee County ghost stories. Whether chasing sturgeon on the Snake River or chasing that bucket list bull elk, Jon loved spending time in the outdoors with his family, imparting all his knowledge and wisdom into his boys.
Jon first met Terri Lynn Rivers when she was just 7 years old. He was stealing cherries out of her family’s tree and she threw rocks at him to chase him away. By her sophomore year she came to the realization that he wasn’t so bad after all. She finally mustered up the courage to ask him out and from that moment on they were inseparable. Jon and Terri were married on July 5, 1982. Together, they had three sons, Aaron, Bart, and Bryan.
Jon is survived by wife Terri and their sons, Aaron (Omega); Bart (Alisha); Bryan (Shelby); Grandchildren Caden; LaKye; Teagan; Derek; Kelly; Florence; Cassidy; Brother Bill (Cindy); Sister Dana; mother and father-in-law Lois and LaVar Rivers; brother and sister-in-law Scott Rivers (Leslie) and Gina Neal (Gary); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jon is preceded in death by his grandparents, mother and father, a sister in law, and a sister.
