Karen Bravender Obituary

Karen Bravender was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on February 19th, 2024 at the age of 78 surrounded by her loving family. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, February 27 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at the Karcher Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, time to be determined. A private committal will be at the Melba Cemetery.

Karen was born to Carey and Vesta Warrick on October 15th, 1945 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Karen grew up attending North Cedar Nazarene Church in Cedar Falls.  From that point forward Karen devoted the rest of her life faithfully to serving the Lord. In 1974 she married the love of her life, Dan. The couple then moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and built their dream log cabin overlooking the lake.  A few years later their children, Chad and Andrea were born. Karen worked in the medical field at Kootenai Medical Hospital as an EKG Technician.  She was very involved in the Nazarene Church where she met so many lifelong friends.  Some of her favorite activities included enjoying time with friends and family, and doting on her grandchildren.  Other activities include softball, boating, party hosting and planning events, teaching Sunday School, Camping, and her favorite hobby… Shopping! In 1985 the family moved to Nampa, Idaho where they still reside. Karen was known for her tender kind heart and loving everyone that crossed her path. She radiated the love of Jesus and her unwavering faith led her to mentor others. One of her most memorable traits she was known for was her contagious laugh.  She could brighten any room or mood.  Also, she had a love of color, purple being her favorite.  She loved gospel music.   The two she loved most were Lynda Randle (God on the Mountain) and the songs by the Gaithers.

Carrying on her memory are her loving and devoted husband, Dan of over 50 years; son Chad and daughter Andrea; grandchildren, Ella and Jameson; her mother, Vesta Warrick; Sister, Nancy (Larry) and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Carey Warrick.

Karen’s luminous spirit displayed brightly despite years of tremendous physical pain while here on earth.  She is now pain free and walking with Jesus.  She is now “Home.”
