Karon Lorraine Herald
1940 - 2022
Karon Herald passed away at home surrounded by her family on April 1. Karon was born on July 5, 1940, to Cecil and Beulah Case in Berwyn, Nebraska. They moved to Nampa, ID in 1942. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1958. She married Clyde Herald on June 12, 1959, and they had 3 sons, Jim Wayne, Curtis Eugene and Kelly Lee.
The family loved to go camping especially riding Honda Trail 90s around the logging roads around Horsethief Reservoir taking in the natural beauty of Idaho’s mountains taking pictures of wildflowers and wildlife as well as picking wild huckleberries.
She worked at Stanford Variety Store from 1961 – 1965. Then she worked for the Nampa School District, Food Service as a kitchen manager, starting at South Jr. High. She then managed the school kitchen at Skyview High School and then at Snake River Elementary where she retired in 2002.
Karon was preceded in death by her dad Cecil Case in 1988, her husband Clyde Herald in 2004, her oldest son Jim Herald in 2004, her brother Darrel in 2009 and her mother Beulah Case in 2016. She is survived by her brother Gary Case and his wife Debbie, son Curtis and his wife Cathy, son Kelly, her grandson Chris, and several nephews and nieces.
There will be a viewing at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel on Monday 4/11 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Bethel Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday 4/12 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
