Kathryn Ann Proesch Berrett, 90, of Melba Idaho died on November 10, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.
Kate was born on January 15, 1933 in Melba, Idaho to Sid and Ella Proesch. Kate lived her entire life within one mile of where she was born.
Kate married Ray Berrett on November 11, 1950. They were married almost 52 years before Ray died.
Kate had 5 siblings: Ellen Carstensen, Bill Proesch, Marie Thompson, Bob Proesch and Theresa Wagers.
Kate had 4 children: Jeff (Joy) Berrett, Jerry (Helen) Berrett, Joe (Lisa) Berrett and Janet (Michael) Angeletti. Kate had 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Kate was loved by everyone she met. She touched so many lives and gave to everyone, and she was always the first to help someone in need. First and foremost, Kate loved her family, and her family was defined, not by relation, but by love.
Kate was involved in so many activities, some of which are: cub scouts, 4-H, cookies for veterans (through the legion hall), selling popcorn at the school, organizing cards at the Melba Senior Center, all while helping to run a farm and a dairy, running parts all over the valley, making sure all the kids got to practice and games and making sure we had a hot dinner on the table. Kate loved to play cards and bingo. She spent a lot of time at the Nampa and Caldwell Senior Centers making new friends.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Ella Proesch, her sister Ellen Carstensen, her brothers Bill Proesch and Bob Proesch. Her husband, Ray Berrett. Her grandson Miles Berrett.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Melba Senior Center.
