Lail Joyce Bergland, 86, of Nampa ID, passed away on December 13th at Grace Memory Care in Caldwell.
Lail was born on October 5,1935 in Villisca, Iowa, she was the daughter of Dean and Alvah Brownlee. In 1940 her family moved to Cheyenne WY, where she married Arlen Bergland on June 20, 1954. They enjoyed 68 years together, raising their 4 children in Longmont CO and moved to Nampa in 2000.
She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed traveling, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling and spending time with family. Her gift of hospitality was enjoyed by all. She hosted countless birthday parties, holiday gatherings, family reunions and dinner parties. Lail was an excellent cook and catered company events, weddings and other celebrations. She worked for Pfizer in Niwot CO as executive secretary to the vice president and supervised over 105 salesman, who lovingly called her Den Mother. Upon retirement Arlen and Lail spent several months every year traveling throughout the United States in their RV. Lail’s Christian faith was an essential part of her life, sharing the love of God with everyone she met.
Survivors include her husband, Arlen; sister Bonnie and husband Mick Wallerstedt of Denver CO; daughter Barbara (Brad) Nash of Nampa; sons, Richard (Jennifer) Bergland of Georgetown TX; Don (Trudi) Bergland of Nampa; Ed (Mandy) Bergland of Nampa, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Lail was preceded in death by brother Bob Brownlee, sister Deanna Christensen and niece Laurie Christensen.
