Lawrence Wudarcki Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Edward Wudarcki, age 80, of Nampa, Idaho succumbed to vascular dementia surrounded by family on Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Larry is survived by his wife, Marilyn Wudarcki; his son, Jeff Wudarcki and his wife, Sara; his daughter, Kim Napoli; his son, Scott Wudarcki and his wife, Melinda. Additionally, Larry is survived by six grandchildren, Taylar Kilian (and husband, Josh), Marissa Wudarcki (and fiancé Courtland Oberly), Cassandra Napoli, Donovan Napoli, Caleb Wudarcki and Derek Wudarcki and great-granddaughter, Olivia Kilian. Larry was predeceased by his parents and sister, Mary Ann Tepper.

Larry was born on December 10, 1940 to Edward Mitchell Wudarcki and Gertrude Marian Ignasiak Wudarcki in Pontiac, Michigan. Larry graduated from Almont Community High School in 1959 and continued his education at Oakland College in Rochester, Michigan and Syracuse University in New York.

Larry’s professional career began in York, Nebraska at Champion Home Builders followed by a transfer to Claysburgh, Pennsylvania. One year later he was asked to assist with the opening of a plant in Lindsay, California. He ultimately left Champion Home Builders to work for IBM in the San Francisco Bay Area. Continuing his work with IBM, Larry moved to Boise, Idaho in 1979. He had an extensive 25+ year career at IBM, primarily working as a manager in the service division.  He finished his IBM career in the sales division.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed playing chess, cribbage, boating, camping and bowling on the Hannah’s bowling team.  He was a fierce competitor in everything he attempted. In 1993, Larry met and married Marilyn Rae Butler. They spent the majority of their married life living in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho. Larry was known for his love of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, taking down a 6-point bull elk during one of his hunting trips. Larry liked to work with his hands. It seemed that he could fix or build anything. Just for fun, he began building and selling customized campers after his retirement from IBM. He helped design and build their mountain home in Sandpoint. He later hand-crafted and built a 14 ft. cedar strip canoe, cutting, steaming and bending the wood cedar strips by hand.  Larry was also active in the Sandpoint United Methodist Church.

A special thank you to the people at Keystone Hospice and Harbor Assisted Living in Nampa, Idaho for their loving care and support during his final days. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude for being empathetic and understanding during this difficult time.
