Lillian Rena Powell died peacefully on May 21, 2022, and is now in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Lillian was born on November 25, 1924 in Star, Idaho to Samuel and Lenora Smith. Lillian spent her childhood years in Warren, Idaho, before her family moved to Star, and then Payette, where she graduated from Payette High School in 1942. That same year, she married her high school sweetheart, Ed Powell, on August 23, 1942. They were married for 50 years.
Lillian was a loving mother of two children, Sandy Wollenschlaeger and Daryl Powell. She also enjoyed her work in banking, first at the bank in Weiser, Idaho, and then at the Treasure Valley Bank in Fruitland, Idaho where she started the bookkeeping department. Following Ed's death, she moved to Nampa, Idaho. She loved her Lord and savior and was active in her church.
Lillian enjoyed cooking and sewing, and traveling the country by RV, with Ed and their family. They traveled throughout the United States, including Alaska. She played the piano, organ, and accordion. Lillian and Ed would play specials in church.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Sandy Wollenschlaeger and her grandchildren, Kim Saucerman, Kris Bruns, Michelle Cummings, and Brian Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Powell, and her son, Daryl Powell.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book and full obituary is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
