Marjorie “Marge” M. Pieksma, 82, of Nampa, passed away at a local care facility in Nampa on Friday, April 27, 2018. A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 10 AM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Cloverdale United Reformed Church, 3580 N. Cloverdale Rd. in Boise. A private interment will be later at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. Marge was born on January 23, 1936, in Sibley, IA. Marge graduated from Bellflower High School in Bellflower, CA, and she was married to Harry W. Pieksma just a few weeks later on June 29, 1953. After Harry’s term of service in the United States Air Force in El Paso, Texas, they returned to California.
In 1967, the family moved from California to take up farming in the state of Washington. In the early 70’s, they relocated to a farm in Nampa, Idaho. Most recently, Harry and Marge were both residents of a local care center, enjoying married life for nearly 65 years.
Marge is survived by her husband, Harry, and her five children: Norman (Gail) Pieksma; Kenneth (Paula) Pieksma; Donald (Vicki) Pieksma; Marliss (John) Katsma; and Duane (Michonne) Pieksma; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; her sisters, Iris Wybenga and Rosemary Wiersma, a brother Morris Pap, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Pap. She was preceded in death by her brother Arnold Pap; brother-in-laws, John Wybenga, John Wiersma, and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Pap.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Meadow View Nursing and Rehabilitation in Nampa for their love and care that was given to Marge in the last few weeks of her earthly life.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Cloverdale United Reformed Church in memory of Marge.
