Mark Rosar Obituary

Mark Rosar was born in Carbondale, PA, the son of Fred and Clara Rosar and raised in Scranton, PA. Mark was a very active child earning his eagle scout honors with Troop #19 at Petersburg Presbyterian Church while at the age of 13, Following graduation from high school he joined the United States army and served his country from August of 78’ to January of 83’, where he earned his expert field medic badge, marksman ribbon and overseas service ribbon. While serving in the military he had the chance to visit 39 countries and every state except Hawaii.

After returning home he decided to tour the United States and later settled in Idaho, where he married Marilyn Burtlow  in April of 1984  Mark has been a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Jaycee’s, and led a Boy's Scout Troop for Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa. At a young age Mark was very interested in politics and education, he also spent many of his later years tutoring children in math. Mark loved helping and educating people, being a father figure and educator to many. He earned his master’s degree in business administration while working full time for the Amalgamated Sugar Factory (1993-2017) and raising his two sons.

Mark was unable to continue working as an educator following retirement due to health issues.  Mark loved spending time with his loved ones from going on adventures or simply staying at home and being together. Holidays had a very special place in his heart; he loved Christmas and the 4th of July. Mark is preceded in death by his father Fred C. Rosar of Scranton, PA. He is survived by his mother Clara (Rosar) Marsico of Carbondale, PA; his wife Marilyn (Burtlow) Rosar; his two sons, Nicholas and Noah Rosar;  brother Wade Rosar of Raleigh, NC, and 3 sisters, Lori DeLong, Tara Rosar, and Lana Rosar all of Pennsylvania as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members in Pennsylvania and the Burtlow family.

There will be a viewing on Thursday October 20th, at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th  Ave So. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday,October 21 at the Kohlerlawn in Nampa, Idaho. There will be a luncheon graciously provided by his sister in law’s LDS church located on the corner of Chicago and Amity in Nampa following the graveside service. Mark was and will always be loved by the many people whose hearts and minds were touched.  May his soul forever rest in peace.  He is gone but will never be forgotten.
