Ofelia Alambra Obituary

Ofelia (Ofie) Reyna Alambra age 64 years old went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2020 at her home in Nampa, Idaho.  She was born on December 13, 1955 at hometown Darasa Tanaun Batangas City, Philippines, to Anastacio (Tacio) and Victoria (Toyang) Flores.  She attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Tanaun, Batangas.  Right after high school, at the age of 19 she moved to Canada to be with her sisters, Ate Gloria and Ate Chion.  She worked at Palliser Upholstery Company until 1996. Ofie met Ares and they immediately fell in love and she moved to Nampa, Idaho. She married the love of her life on March 17, 1996.

While living in Nampa, she volunteered at a Children’s facility where she had the opportunity to engage with children who needed help. She made the children feel special by playing with them and buying them toys. Even though she did not have children of her own, she felt very blessed to be able to spend time with these kids and she treated them like they were hers! She also worked at the Nazarene University in the catering department where she met some good college kids. She invited them to their home to have some home cooked Filipino food!

Ofie was very passionate about cooking. She was very skilled in the kitchen. Her famous palabok, apritada, mechado, pansit, empanadas, and lumpias were the common Filipino dishes were often requested by her families and friends. She was always ready to share her recipes with everyone! She often cooked for the families who needed home cooked food when they were just getting home from a long vacations or just getting home from their doctors appointments. Ofie simply had a BIG HEART! Ofie was a devout Catholic woman. She was God fearing, devoted, dedicated, and committed to God Himself. She often said, “GOD IS GOOD, AND HE IS IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING!” She was very involved with her church and welcomed her friends to hold bible study at her home. She helped with the fund raising event were she cooked her famous Filipino dish! She was always eager to help anyone who needed help!

Ofie also loved clothes and decorating her beautiful home! She was beautiful in every way. Her style of clothes and how her house is decorated shows the type of a person she was. She exuded grace, elegance, poise, and charm. I’m not sure if some of you ever noticed, Ofie and Ares were always color coordinating   their outfits whenever they went out at parties, attending church, or just simply running errands. She was so proud to be his wife and he was so proud to be hers! Ares and Ofie were inseparable. God brought them to be together here and in heaven! DINALA SILA NG DIYOS DITO AT SA LANGIT. HINDI SILA MAPAPAGHIWALAY!

Ofie was survived by stepson Damien (Tenelle), grandkids (Samuel, Evelyn, and Sebastian).  Survived by Chion (Nards), and Rod (Sally). She has beautiful nieces and handsome nephews she loved very much, Arnie (Marie Jane), Aileen, Richard (Marie), Jackie, Jhosie (Cedric), Jeffrey (Erine), and Justin (AJ).  She was also survived by her precious grandkids Matix, Mateo, Donovan, and Abigail.
