Patricia “Pat” Annette Baker, 79, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, in Meridian, Idaho after 4 years of living with advancing dementia.
Pat was born April 18, 1944, in Wendell, Idaho to Laurel Barber and Mildred Kidd. She was raised by her loving grandparents, John and Dorothy Kidd in Hazelton, Idaho,
Pat married Ronald Makinson in 1962. To their union two children were born, Trevor Makinson and Jonica Johnson. They later divorced.
In 1981, Pat married Gerard K Baker and they shared 31 years of life until Gerard’s death in 2012. They lived in Hazelton, Idaho until 1999 when they moved to Nampa, Idaho. They spent many happy years attending their grand-children’s activities. Pat is a past president of the Lions Club in Hazelton, Idaho. Pat enjoyed collecting antique glass dishes and decorating her home which led her to selling Home Interiors Inc. products for many years. But her greatest joy was spending time with family.
In 2014, Pat married Volney “Bill” Hickox and they shared their lives in Nampa, Idaho until dementia made it difficult for her to remain at home in 2019. She lived her last days in the care of Meridian Meadows, in Meridian, Idaho.
Pat is survived by her husband, Volney “Bill” Hickox, her children, Jonica Johnson and Trevor (Jennifer) Makinson; grandchildren: Stephanie (Jay) Kelly, Alex Bastow, Madison Johnson, Connor Johnson, Ellie Johnson; siblings: Susan (Gale) Chipman, Randy Barber, Daryl (Sandy) Barber, Terry (Judy) Crumrine, Rick (Teresa) Crumrine, Sharon (Bob) Snyder, and David Crumrine; and one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents who raised her, her siblings, Harold Crumrine, Karen Crumrine, Danny Crumrine, Teresa “Tess” Coiner, and Lawrence “Red” Barber.
Services will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 10 am at Nampa Funeral Home—Yraguen Chapel at 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa followed by a reception with light lunch and refreshments. A dedication ceremony will be held at 1pm at the Idaho State Cemetery—Boise, 10100 North Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise, Idaho.
