Peggy Suzanne (Tate) Watt

Peggy Suzanne (Tate) Watt, died on August 31, 2019 at her home in Nampa, Idaho at the age of 58 surrounded by family and friends.  A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at Karcher Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W. Karcher Road, Nampa, ID 83651.  In honor of Peggy’s love of gardening and art, her family has chosen a garden/floral theme for the attire for her life celebration. 

Peggy was born on December 31, 1960 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Ray and Patti Tate.  The family moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1962 where they lived until moving to Arizona in 1969.  After one year living in Phoenix, the family settled in Glendale.  Peggy enjoyed nature and relished the family’s many trips to the mountains of Arizona, Idaho, and Montana.  Her love of being outside eventually led to her becoming a city lifeguard where she worked during the summers that she attended Phoenix Christian High School.  In the fall of 1979, she began attending Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho.  Peggy graduated in 1983 with a BA in psychology, and two AA’s in art and in business.  In the fall of 1983, she entered the education program at NNC (now NNU) and in 1985 earned another BA in elementary education.  She enjoyed countless wonderful adventures and made life-long friends during her college years.  It was at NNC that Peggy met her soul-mate, Dale Watt, whom she married on June 9, 1984.  In the fall of 1985, Peggy began teaching at Homedale Elementary School where she taught for four years.  Peggy enjoyed teaching, but she cherished her role as mother.  Sons Devan and Ethan, and daughters Maddy and Chloe were her life focus.  Peggy homeschooled her children; they joined a homeschool group for which Peggy taught art and American history classes.  The children’s interests in sports and music were enthusiastically supported by her and Dale.  Peggy’s faith was essential to her life.  The family attended Karcher Church of the Nazarene where Peggy oversaw the church kitchen.  For several years, she managed Thanksgiving dinners, Easter brunches, memorial dinners, and food for many other events.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Dale Watt; four children: Devan, Ethan, Madeline, and Chloe Watt of Nampa, Idaho; her sister Bettina Tate Pedersen, brother-in-law Keith Pedersen, nephews Kai and Soren Pedersen of San Diego, California; and her sister Olivia Tate of Nampa, Idaho.  She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Lynn and Patrycia Jane (Wilkes) Tate.
