Renee Lynn Zimmerman, 74, of Nampa, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Renee was born September 7, 1947, in Los Angeles, California and raised in La Puente and later West Covina where she met her future Husband Ed when she was 7 years old. When Renee turned 18, she and Ed were married in 1966. In 1970 she and Ed received Christ as their personal Savior and the Lord healed their marriage and blessed the remainder of their 56 years together.
During her life Renee was a phenomenal athlete and competed in swimming, softball, volleyball, and golf. But her passion was serving the Lord and winning others to Christ. She taught Sunday school, spoke at ladies retreats and had a 10-year jail ministry where she led numerous ladies to the Lord. If a salesperson knocked on our door you can bet that they left with a Christian tract after having been witnessed to about the love of God. She was also a consummate cook and loved to entertain guests after church on Sundays.
Renee leaves behind her loving Husband Ed, sons Todd (Laura) and Scott (Heather); 7 grandchildren; James (in heaven), Michael, Caleb (Macie), Trey (Abby) and Kobe, Niesha, Natalie and Nadia; sisters Gail (Willie) Happeny and Dottie (Paul) Luck and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal funeral at Renee's request, just a graveside service for the immediate family. Donations to the Boise Rescue Mission may be sent in lieu of flowers in Renee's name.
The family would like to thank Canyon Hospice for their loving and caring attention to Renee during her final days as well as all of the family and friends for their thoughtful prayers and assistance.
