Richard “Rich” Neider, 77, of Nampa, Idaho died on July 1, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Rich was born April 2, 1946, to Joseph and Amy Neider of Garden City, Idaho. He was the youngest of 3 children. Rich married Janice Jo Jackson in 1966. Together they had 4 children: Tonya (Neider) Strey of Nebraska, Jamie Neider of Idaho, and twin girls Latausha (Neider) Gould and Latrisha (Neider) Ormsby both of Idaho.
Rich had several professions throughout his life including a brief stint in the military, a head cook at several different restaurants in Boise, a cabinet maker, wastewater treatment technician, and a hod carrier in masonry. In his final days he reminisced about his time spent as a head cook at the Torch Cafe, famous for the origin of the finger steaks in Idaho.
Rich was an avid hunter and fisherman often spending his time doing various outdoor activities. One would often find Rich fishing the various bodies of water within the state of Idaho. In his later years he frequented close by gun ranges.
Rich spent his last days surrounded by his family and many lifelong friends. He will be missed by many.
Rich is survived by his brother Joseph Neider of Boise, his 4 children, six grandchildren, and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Amy Neider, his wife Janice Neider, and his sister Joann Meeker.
