Setsuo “Fred” Miyauchi ,87, of Nampa passed away peacefully at his home in Nampa on Wednesday, February 10th, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am at Nampa Funeral Home,Yraguen Chapel, 412 12th Ave. So. In Nampa. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com. Fred was born in Mountain View, California on April 29, 1933. During WWII, along with his family, he was interned at Heart Mountain Relocation Center in Wyoming. After WWII, he and his family moved to Denver, CO. He married his wife Pauline Woodward on October 11, 1958 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Fred received degrees in education from Pepperdine University and Rockmont College (Colorado Christian University). He served as a principal of several Christian schools including Bethany Baptist in Long Beach, California. Fred was also an ordained minister and devout Christian, serving at Bethany Baptist Church in Long Beach and among others. He was involved in numerous ministries, including a mission to Bangladesh through the Foundation for Airborne Relief. He spent much of his career in the restaurant industry, including starting and owning the Marie Callendars in Boise for many years.
Fred is survived by his wife Pauline Miyauchi, their four children and their spouses. Son Garrett and his wife Rachel Miyauchi of Nampa, ID, and their children, granddaughter Anneke Wolfe and husband Alex with their children Carter, Addison, Hudson, Avonlea, and Elias., grandson Caleb Miyauchi, grandson Kyle Miyauchi and wife Kendra with their children Quincy and Wesley, granddaughter Britnee Unger and husband Kenny, and granddaughter Amanda. Son Greg and his wifeJoan Miyauchi of Grand Lake, Colorado and their children, grandson Taber Miyauchi and wife Elly, granddaughter Samantha Spencer and her husband Alex, and grandson Logan Miyauchi. Daughter Tammy and her husband John Roussopulos of Meridian,ID and their children, granddaughter Chelsea Coy and husband Casey and their son Cooper, granddaughter Caitlin Rogers and her husband Tyler. Son Terry and his wife Kim Miyauchi of Scottsdale, Arizona and their children, grandson Jacob Miyauchi, and grandson Adam Miyauchi. Fred’s surviving sister, Mariko “Mary” Endo, resides in Mission Hills, Ca. His late siblings include Hisashi “Charlie”, Miyoko “May”, Hiroshi, Toshio, Shizuku “Sue”, and Helen. Fred had a number of nephews and nieces also.
