Shannon Hahn Obituary

Shannon Sue Hahn

January 15, 1967 – October 4, 2021

Shannon Sue Hahn, 54, of Nampa, passed away on October 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nampa Idaho to Marvin “Leon” and Phyllis Westhusin on January 15, 1967. She attended St. Pauls catholic school and graduated from Nampa High School in 1985.

In her younger years she enjoyed the outdoors, spending many summers with her family at Lake Cascade riding motorcycles, fishing, boating, water skiing and swimming. Shannon was also an accomplished athlete in school, competing in Gymnastics, Drill Team, and Softball.

Shannon won the state championship of the American Bowling Alliance for youths in 1983 and went on to compete in the national finals.

Later Shannon became very involved in Archery both competing in events and hunting.

Shannon worked for Wicap Head Start from 2000-2015 as a Family Advocate where she made many lifelong friends, especially with her notorious “Nampa Group”. She was very proud of her work helping children and families throughout Nampa and Caldwell.

Shannon Married Ernie “EJ” Hahn on July 4, 2009. Together they each brought two children to the marriage creating a family of three daughters and one son. Eventually her children provided her with 6 grandchildren. Shannon’s family was her whole world. Gma, as she would affectionately become known, liked nothing better in this world then spending as much time as possible with her Grandkids. “Gma” wasn’t satisfied just being in her Grandkids life and took an active role in helping raise them, helping teach them reading, writing, and good morals and values. She was constantly planning activities like the most recent hot cocoa and book night where she bought all the Grandkids new books, and they all took turns reading their books and drinking cocoa.

Shannon looked forward to playing Bunco on Friday nights with her friends, crocheting blankets, working in her garden, fishing, and camping and going to the Oregon Coast every summer with family.

Shannon is survived by her husband Ernie“EJ”Hahn; Daughters TiAnna Hagglund (Logan) , Tymber Atteberry (Matt), Megan Hahn; son Jacob Hahn; 6 Grandchildren; mother Phyllis Westhusin; sister Shelly Gardner (Chris); brother Tim Westhusin (Kim); many nieces, nephews, cousins and the Johnson Family.

Shannon was preceded in death by her Father Marvin “Leon” Westhusin, Denis Johnson; Grandparents Mae and Delbert Wright, Marvin and Leola Westhusin and Alta Allsworth.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
