Tammy Chavez Obituary

Tammy Jo Chavez- born in Redwood City, CA on April 24, 1961, and unexpectedly passed away on May 2, 2023 at her mother’s house in Nampa, ID at 62 years old.
Tammy was raised in Riverside, CA. When she was a pre-teen, she moved to Columbia Falls, MT. At the age of 16 she and her family moved to Nampa, ID and she graduated from Nampa HS. As a child and teen Tammy loved horseback riding, concerts, and spending time with friends. In 1986 She moved back to Riverside, California and Donnie was so in love with her he followed her there, but she wouldn’t move in with him until he got an apartment for them, she encouraged him strive and work hard so they could live together and build a life, eventually they married in 1987. In 1988 they got pregnant with their first-born Sean who was born in San Diego, Tammy was so in love with him and excited to start a new journey in her life, she would take him everywhere and would always talk about them stumbling across an Indian burial ground. In 1991 they moved back to Nampa, ID and she got pregnant with Shaylyn and loved having a girl to dress up. They thought that one boy and one girl would be enough, but Sarah came not long after in 1996 giving her another girl that she absolutely adored. Once again, they thought they were done but 10 years later as a wonderful blessing and surprise came their last child Noah in 2006 and he made their family complete. Her career path varied from Mercy Medical Hospital, to Zilog, and Idaho State School, and ended in the medical field before her retirement. Tammy worked hard her whole life to provide for her family and give her children a wonderful and memorable childhood. She would always attend every school event and planned amazing birthday parties, going on playdates with friends and vacationing anytime the opportunity came along her children were always right by her side.
Tammy lived life to the fullest and loved to be the center of attention. She could get anyone to smile or laugh with her great sense of humor no matter where she went. She never met a stranger. She loved to be outdoors. Jump creek was her favorite place to go and she would always talk about all the great parties she had with friends. She also loved to go swimming, hiking, or even taking her dog Bruno for a walk. She loved movies and music! Some of her favorite things to watch was Shameless because she said it made our family seem normal! She also loved Ghost Adventures because Zach Bagan was a hottie and of course American Horror Story. Titanic, and Scarface were always on repeat! Her music varied from Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, Journey, Boston, and Ozzy Osbourne. If you can’t tell her
favorite era was from the 70’-80’s She also loved collecting fine glass, going rock hunting and to thrift stores & yard sales. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and she was the proudest mother/grandmother you would ever meet. It is hard to believe that you are gone, but we find comfort knowing you are at peace and now a Guardian Angel watching over us. We feel your presence and will keep your memories alive through us all.
