Tony Uria Obituary

Tony Floyd Uria, 66, of Nampa lived a good life. He was born on February 12, 1957 while his father was in the military in Anchorage, Alaska.

When he was 1 year old, his parents Floyd and Blanche Uria moved back to Idaho, settling in Nampa, where he lived the rest of his life and made a difference and positive impact in many lives. He went to Nampa schools and took an interest in cars and motorcycles early on.

He met his high school sweetheart Camie when they worked at Orange Julia’s in the Karcher mall. He was a cook, and she was a waitress. This year, they celebrated 46 years of marriage.

He worked at the railroad in Boise and painted cars in his garage at home. Then in March of 1985, Tony and Camie started their own Auto Body business, “Uria Auto Body,” which is still thriving today. They provided honest, quality service for more than 30 years.

Tony and Camie have two adult children- Jason and wife Jocelyn Uria (Seattle, WA), and Kendra and Zac Friberg with daughters Breah, Aliah and Shaelah (Nampa, ID). Tony was always a silly, and supportive father and grandfather. Tony is very proud of his family.

Tony enjoyed hundreds of camping trips over the years. Some of his favorites include Burgdorf and Landmark and many other backcountry locations. Tony knows the Idaho forests and Owyhee mountains like the back of his hand.

Tony enjoyed riding and sharing motorcycles, razors, and flying with family and friends. He took flying lessons with Jason at the Caldwell airport and became a private pilot. This led to Jason’s career of being a pilot. He also supported Kendra in her dream of becoming a nurse. He always encouraged his family in their interests.

Tony is a fun and special grandpa to 3 beautiful granddaughters- Breah, Aliah and Shaelah. He made time for them and always kept them laughing, always encouraging them to eat as many cookies as they wanted!

After retiring, he was thrilled to build a cabin for his family in Cascade, Idaho. He was even able to do a lot of the work himself.

His fun retirement job was driving semi trucks for DayStar Excavation. He thoroughly enjoyed this time and especially loved his coworkers. He also enjoyed men’s Bible study.

Tony trusted Jesus Christ throughout his life. He even helped lead others to Christ, inviting them to share in his faith, even until his last days. He had a unique way of making everyone feel seen, loved and cared for. People were drawn to him because of his character- a kind and loyal leader with a servant’s heart.

He leaves behind his wife Carmel (Camie) Uria, parents (Floyd and Blanche Uria), son and daughter-in-law (Jason and Jocelyn Uria), daughter and family (Kendra and Zac Friberg, Breah, Aliah, and Shaelah), sister (Sylvia and David Callsen), and brother (Steve and Lori Uria), as well as many other treasured family members, including his large Basque family, and friends who are like family. He has always been a leader and continues to lead the way for us until we see each other again.

He finished his battle with ALS on March 20th, the first day of spring. He passed peacefully with family at his side and now has total healing, freedom, and complete victory.
