Vickie Caldwell Obituary

Vickie Lee Caldwell, loving mom, wife, sister, and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2022.  Vickie was born in Du Quoin, Illinois on April 16, 1948, to Charles and Minerva Martin. Vickie had three siblings, her older brother Eugene Martin, older sister Judith Batteau, and her baby sister Lucille Kay Marler.  Vickie was a selfless single mother who always put her children first.  She took an active part in her church community.  She graduated from John A Logan College with a nursing degree in 1980. Vickie worked as a pediatric nurse until she found her calling working in geriatrics. She worked as a geriatric nurse until her retirement.  In 1985 she moved to Nampa Idaho, to be closer to her baby sister and found she was truly home. On October 8, 1994, she married the love of her life Doyle D. Caldwell. Vickie brought 3 beautiful daughters to the union Jane Corbin, Jessica Miller, and Jami Wells. Doyle brought two wonderful sons to the combined family, Barry Caldwell, and Todd Caldwell.  Vickie had eight grandchildren Chelsea, Harland, Brooklyn, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Joshua, Kaelee, and Micaiah and four great grandchildren.  She and Doyle shared a mutual love for the outdoors, spending most of their time together hiking, fishing, hunting, and exploring the mountains.  Their love of the outdoors was only exceeded by their love for their children and grandchildren. Vickie was preceded in death by Doyle in 2016. Vickie loved traveling in her RV, bluegrass music, rock hounding, her friends at TOPS, and a good glass of Jameson.  She brought love and laughter to everyone met; she truly never met a stranger.  She will be forever loved and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.  A service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Canyon Hill Cemetery.
