When I think of Dorothy, I can't help but remember her beautiful singing voice! I particularly remember & can hear her singing, "O Holy Night"! Beautiful! What fond memories I have of the Dean family during our years at Baptist Temple Church! "Faithful" is the word I would use to describe Dorothy; Everything she did & who she was, was characterized by faithfulness. Dorothy was the last person to have a conversation with my mother, just minutes prior to my mother's unexpected passing into Glory! What comfort Dorothy brought to our family in sharing the conversation! May God comfort all of you with His all-surpassing peace! 2 Thess. 3:16

It is with a heavy heart that I read about Dorothy's passing. I worked at Elk's Rehab during the '90s. I loved Dorothy. She was so kind and gentle and caring. If you didn't feel well she would put her hand on you and instantly made you feel better. Sometimes it felt like she was the only person alive that cared about me. Later, I became an RN, and while teaching at a local college I had the wonderful opportunity to run into her again. We did clinicals at the Elk's, Dorothy came for exercise classes. I was able to speak with her, give her a hug and tell her she was instrumental in my becoming a nurse. I explained our shared past....but I am not sure she remembered it all, as it was almost 25 years ago. I am so sorry that i am unable to attend her funeral, but I wanted to share how much she was loved at the Elk's. How much she meant to me as a young woman, just starting out. Much love to you and your family. Sherri Sneddon

So my special friend, Dorothy, is basking in the presence of Jesus. When I went to work at Elks Rehab. Hospital in June 1977, Dorothy became my professional and spiritual mentor. Her life radiated the love of Jesus. I last saw her on the day of my retirement and her birthday, 2 years ago. She made a huge impact on my life and I am forever grateful. Sadly, I will not be able to attend her celebration of life due to medical issues of my own but my heart will be there.

I have fond memories of the Dean family. The family was special. I sill recall Dorothy and LaVar Hoff singing a duet-so lovely. I will be 99 in DEc. I live with Valerie and husband in Sumner, Wa. now. Al has been gone 10 years , and my dear son, Michael, died 6 years ago. Dick lives near File. His first wife died 10 years ago, also. He is married again now. God has blessed me with good health, a loving family, and friends. Three grand kids and families live in Seattle area. May you all have comfort and peace at this difficult time.. God bless all. .
