Dear Betty and family, We are sadden to hear about Sumner's passing. What a nice obituary and the impressive accomplishments he did during a busy life. Sumner;s picture reminds me of my brother Reid. That meant he was a pretty good-looking man indeed. I remember how much fun it was having Sumner on our team during our class reunion held near Garden Valley resort. He wanted to do his part to help us win the tournament and he did. He showed so much enthusiasm, desire and encouragement having a big grin on his face when we all played well. He was always a great competitor. Our four man team won our class reunion golf tournament. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Dale and JoAnne Faylor

Sumner was a great inspiration to me and many engineers in Idaho, he will be missed! I want to thank his family for allowing Sumner the time to pursue his career to the fullest, I know it was time away from family, time away from all of you. May you always know that he was appreciated by all of his extended family for his guidance and his time was spent raising young engineers in Idaho. My condolences to Betty and all of Sumner's family and may Sumner rest in peace.

Dear Betty and Family:
Our sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Sumner made us feel welcome when we moved from Minnesota into our neighborhood in Nampa 12 years ago. When we met on the greenbelt, he always said to us, "hello, neighbor!". We enjoyed the beautiful roses he grew and inspired us to plant our own. May the cherished memories keep your spirits uplifted during this difficult time.
