Clara Stella Vesta (Clark) Dillon

January 8, 1922 ~ June 4, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Clara Stella Vesta Clark-Dillon passed away at the age of 94 on June 4, 2016, and is now very much alive in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ.

Clara was born in Healy, Kansas on January 8, 1922 to Sherman and Edith Clark. In 1929, when Clara was 7 years old, her parents moved the family to Nampa ID so their children could attend Christian Schools. Clara was saved at the age of 14 and baptized in Rufus, Oregon by her brother Pastor Willis Clark. Clara graduated from the Nazarene Academy High School. After graduation she attended one year at Northwest Nazarene College and one year at a business college. Clara married James Loyd Dillon on May 20, 1941 in Des Moines WA. Her brother, Pastor Willis Clark, officiated at their wedding ceremony. To this union three children were born, Janice Louise, John Allen, and Sheldon Jay. Clara was a devoted wife and mother. She helped her husband, Loyd start Dillon Plumbing in 1963. She felt the call on her life was to be a witness for her Lord and help others. She did this until the day of her death. When in her own home she frequently baked pies to take to someone or entertained friends and family in her home. She often visited shut ins with a word of encouragement and prayer. The last few years of her life she lived at Sunny Ridge and Streamside assisted living facilities and even there she was of great encouragement to her friends and staff.

Clara is survived by her daughter Janice Dillon-Whitmarsh and her husband Ben of Boise ID, her son Sheldon Dillon and his wife Karen of Nampa ID, her daughter-in-law Myrna Dillon-Williamson and her husband Greg of Meridian; seven grandchildren - Tammy Jo Whitmarsh-Berain and her husband Jesse of Salt Lake City UT, Bryan Whitmarsh and his wife Kristy of Hagerman ID, Michael Dillon and his wife Jenny of Frederick CO, Mark Dillon and Kate of Corvallis OR, Angela Dillon-Ward of Nampa ID, Deedra Dillon-Cook and her husband Tyler of Nampa ID, Desiree Dillon of Nampa ID; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceding Clara in death were her parents Sherman and Edith Clark, her four brothers Willis, Eugene, Earl and Jay, her husband James Loyd, her son John Allen, her grandson Jay and granddaughter Jentry Dillon-Dye.

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Clara’s life will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:30 am at College Church of the Nazarene, 504 E Dewey Ave, Nampa, ID 83686.
