H. Ruth McCarrel Heath

H. Ruth McCarrel Heath, 95, of Nampa died January 12, 23017 at a Nampa Hospital. A graveside service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 19, 2017 at Vine Land Cemetery in Clarkston WA.

Henrietta Ruth was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 30, 1921. She was the second daughter of Albert and Mayme McCarrell. She attended school in Davenport and graduated in 1939. After graduation, shetraveled to Anchorage Alaska to live with her sister, Ora Jane. While working in Anchorage she met and married Edgar Heath. In 1946 the young couple moved to Clarkston, WA. They lived in Clarkson until1958 when they moved to Nezperce, Idaho where they lived until Edgar's death in 1994. A few years after Edgar's death, she moved to Nampa, Idaho to be closer to one of her daughters.

Ruth and Edgar had 5 daughters and a son who died as a child. Ruth loved her family and was also a loyal member of her church. She served as the church treasure for 30 years. Ruth and Edgar loved traveling, and Ruth also loved reading, gardening and playing games with her grandchildren. She also loved cooking and knitting. She was well known in Nezperce for her yeast doughnuts. She was a fifty year member of Eastern Stars. In 1983 she was honored with a state office. That year she and Edgar traveled all over Idaho to every official visit.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Edgar of 50 years, her young son, Neal Norman Heath, her parents and her two sisters, Ora Jane Collier and Ada Rose Klingler. She is survived by her five daughters, Carol Anderson (Lynn), of Garland, Texas, Kathy Regennitter (Lysle) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Janet Adams (Wally) of Layton, Utah, Mary Lopez (Juan) of Nampa, Idaho and Ruth Anne Cole (Roy) of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ruth was blessed with 10 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 17 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
