He will be missed so much. I will always remember his sweet smile and kind words. My childhood memories included both of you. He was always so helpful with my Dad's projects. You both have seen all of us grow up. Thinking of you here in Texas. May you find peace in your loving family and friends. His memory will stay in our hearts forever.

Marilyn, What sad news to learn of your loss. I've been remembering so many East Canyon friends today and how special you all were to me. I'm so sorry for this path you are walking right now.

Jim was a wonderful father figure to me in my life. My dad loved him. He was a truly selfless person who always gave his time without a thought of himself. I'm so thankful to his friendship to my parents. I've known Jim and Marilyn my whole life and they are the truest of friends. Jim was with me when I got my second deer. My dad was on the other side of the mountain and I was with Jim and when we saw the deer he helped guide me and stood behind my shoulder and helped spot for me and told me when to shoot. He could have easily shot the deer himself but instead he helped me get in position to take a good shot because he knew how much it would mean to me, and how proud of me my dad would be that I got a deer all by myself. He also helped me take pictures and pack it out. On our difficult hike out I was starving and Jim gave me his last Snickers bar. It was the best Snickers bar I had ever had. He also shared water from his canteen after I had run out. That memory will always be with me. His Christ-like kindness and service to others is something that I hope I can be in my life. Dear Marilyn and family, please know that you are in our prayers at this difficult time. May peace and comfort be with as we remember this beloved man.

My heart hurts as I think of not having Jim's wonderful laughter and cute little quips to liven up our get togethers. He was such a gentle, kind fellow whom everyone enjoyed being around. I will always remember the pinochle games that he was so good at and always knew what everyone had in their hand. Such a whiz at Math. He was such a help to my Richard with all his carpentry skills. Our little farm house was always better after Jim worked on it. My mom also so appreciated all the work he did for her in repairing her front door and removing her chimney. He used his life to serve others so extraordinarily. How he will be missed.
