Welcome to the memorial page for

James Charles Dalton

May 15, 1965 ~ February 26, 2017 (age 51) 51 Years Old

James Charles Dalton, 51, met his Savior on February 26, 2017 in Salt Lake City after struggling with complications from a kidney transplant. He was born May 15, 1965 in Jacksonville, Florida to Charles and Joyce (McKinzie) Dalton and moved to Nampa, Idaho before his first birthday. He graduated from Kuna High School in 1984 and went on to attend Liberty University and Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute.

James married his true love, Stephanie Black, on July 19, 1996. Their marriage was blessed with the addition of three sons, Zane, Jace, and Owen. James delighted in being a husband and father. No one ever doubted his love and devotion to his wife and sons.

In 2014, James became the pastor at the Community Baptist Church of Melba. Pastoring was the desire of his heart. He loved his congregation and was so thankful for the opportunity to minister to them.

James loved sports, Mopars, the Dallas Cowboys, slapstick humor, western novels, a good steak, singing, and outdoor adventures. He treasured time fellowshipping with friends. He was truly one of the kindest and most compassionate people you could meet.

The most vital aspect of James’ life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. James received forgiveness of his sins and was born again at the young age of 7. His desire was for others to know the saving love of Christ. You didn’t know James very long before you also knew about his Savior. It is a comfort to know that his faith is now sight and he is resting in the arms of the One he loved so.

James will be missed by so many. Memories of his corny jokes, missed punchlines, and jumbled clichés will provide a smile on the dark days ahead. His optimism despite circumstances, his love for all he met, his beautiful smile, and his tender concern for others should challenge us all to live better.

James is survived by his wife, Stephanie; sons, Zane, Jace, and Owen Dalton; mother, Joyce Dalton; brother, Colin (Tracie) Dalton; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 4:30 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Treasure Valley Baptist Church, 1300 S. Teare Ave., Meridian, Idaho. A private burial will be at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. There will be a viewing and visitation at the church prior to the funeral service from 3 – 4 PM. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. – 442-8171. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
