Jane Moore

February 28, 1943 ~ January 13, 2016 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Jane Moore, age 72, passed away on January 13, 2016 of natural causes at St. Alphonsus, in Boise, Idaho surrounded by her family. She was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on February 28, 1943 to Ethel and Fred Engelman. She grew up in New Jersey and attended St. Cecilia’s High School there.  In 1960, the family moved to northern California where Jane attended Chico State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
After college, Jane worked as an Accountant for the USAF at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, California. During this time, she married B. Ray Moore in 1967.  Shortly after the birth of their first child, they moved to Nampa, Idaho where she has resided since 1973.
During the early years in Nampa, a second child was born in 1975.  Jane was a stay at home Mom.  She was an active advocate of youth and spent many hours volunteering in the schools and with Ore Ida Boy Scout Council where she started a Pack and later worked on District level positions with Bigfoot District. Frequently volunteer positions with Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council occupied more hours than paid employment whether it was a cookie sale, camp site committee, auction chair or some other effort to further the mission of Girl Scouting beyond the traditional troop lead positions she held. She was a devoted volunteer, always a willing helper and an active doer.
In later years, she resumed her career being employed at Nampa High School Library, State Division of Public Works, accountant at Boise State University Student Union and Business Office Manager at Trinity Health and Rehab Nursing Home of Midland.
Her life joys included family, volunteering, working with and mentoring youth, camping, reading, weekly card games, traveling, cooking and visiting with friends. She will be remembered by her grandchildren as Grandma Jane.  She developed a special relationship with each and particularly enjoyed spending vacation times with them with new adventures and experiences.  Her family will remember the summer get togethers having fun.
She is survived by her children, Amy Emerson and Bill Moore of Nampa, Idaho; four grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Justin Johnson, Cheyenne Moore and Phoenix Moore.  She is also survived by her brother George (Linda) in Maryland and nieces Elizabeth and Emily, a brother in law Steve Gunn and a nephew Michael Gunn in California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris Gunn and niece Chris Gunn.
Cremation is under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life on February 6, 2016 at Eagles Lodge, 118 11th Ave. N.
